Kidpendence Day at Children’s Museum Houston | Friday – Join a patriotic program featuring Captain America and Lady Liberty in interactive story times, a science show, a confetti blast, and more. $19.95. 9am to 6pm.

Stars, Stripes & Submariners! An Independence Day Celebration at Galveston Naval Museum | Friday | FREE – Celebrate with classic 4th of July food, hands-on crafts, scavenger hunts, photo ops with artifacts, and more. $14; $10 ages 5 to 11, 65+, and veterans; free active military. Noon to 3pm.

4th of July Parade on Seawall Boulevard in Galveston | Friday | FREE – The Island hosts its annual seaside Independence Day parade on Seawall Boulevard, featuring a procession of floats, decorated military and civilian vehicles, and performers. The parade travels from 22nd to 46th streets. 6pm to 8pm.

Houston Symphony’s Star Spangled Salute at Miller Outdoor Theatre | Friday | FREE – The Symphony’s Independence Day tradition returns to the Miller stage with a rousing program of patriotic songs. Fireworks cap it all off, starting about 10pm. 8:30pm to 10pm.

4th of July Fireworks Show Over the Gulf in Galveston | Friday | FREE – Stake out your spot on the Seawall for a stunning display of fireworks over the Gulf of Mexico. The show will get started over 37th Street and Seawall, lasting about 20 minutes. 9pm to 10pm.

Red, White & Cruise on McGovern Lake at Hermann Park | Friday – Paddle out on an evening pedal boat cruise offering views of Miller Outdoor Theatre’s fireworks show viewed from the park’s peaceful waters. $125 per boat, seats up to 4. 9pm to 10:30pm.

Freedom Over Texas Fireworks Show Over Downtown Houston | Friday | FREE to Watch – The City of Houston’s fireworks finale can be seen for free for miles around Downtown, happening in the sky immediately west of Downtown and above Buffalo Bayou, Allen Parkway, and Memorial Drive. The best views will be those with a clear line of sight to the skies above Eleanor Tinsley Park and Buffalo Bayou. Starts at approximately 9:30pm.

Patriot Pass Weekend at Downtown Aquarium, Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier & Kemah Boardwalk | Friday to Sunday – Grab an unlimited 3-day pass to select rides and exhibits at all 3 parks. $49.99. Times vary.

Beats on the Beach: Live Music & Fireworks at Moody Gardens | Saturday – Keep the Fourth festivities going at a family-friendly evening of live music by Bama Breeze, dancing and beachfront fireworks. Prices vary. 5:30pm to 9:30pm.

Magic Magic Magic Show at Do It All Events Center | Saturday – Magician Lanny Kibbey leads a family-friendly comedy magic show starring talented illusionists. $36. 8pm.

Splash Pad Weekend Brunch at Maven in Sawyer Yards | Saturday & Sunday – Relax with brunch and mimosas while the kiddos splash around on the family friendly bistro and bar’s green space. 10am to 3pm both days.
