???? “The Sugar Shack” is BACK! ????????

We’re excited to share that Ernie Barnes’ iconic painting, The Sugar Shack, has returned to view — now paired with a new work by Houston-based artist Alexis Pye.

Made famous on the cover of Marvin Gaye’s I Want You album and in the credits of the sitcom Good Times, this celebrated piece captures the vibrant energy of a Black music hall in mid-century North Carolina.

????? On view now in the Kinder Building.
